Rowers can do it all, and they can do it well. Joining the rowing team will be the greatest decision you will ever make, if you choose to accept the harsh realities of the sport. Boston University Sophomore

"I’m a sophomore majoring in Psychology and minoring in English at Boston University, and row on their Lightweight team. In the picture we’re not in lineup order, where I was 5th seat for HOCR, but I’m the third from the left. We race both 8+s and 4+s, but for HOCR I was in the 2v. Rowing is such an amazing sport and my teammates make it so much better; we’re like a family. It’s great to have teammates that you can call friends and who can help push you to be a better rower, and a better you."

Brooke Pierson
University of Washington, Sophomore

I am a Sophomore (Class of 2018) at the University of Washington. My intended major is Biochemistry, I want to pursue Pre-Med. This past spring season I raced in 4 seat of our 3rd Varsity 8 (3V8). My boat won our 3V8 division at the PAC-12 Championship in May 2015. My first rowing experience was at West Potomac my senior year of high school. I will never forget how accepting and enjoyable the team, my boat, and the coaches were. From the freezing cold rows south on the Potomac, to all the fun and hardwork at Stotesbury and SRAA Nationals, I will never forget the team I learned to row and compete with.
